E-Commerce Web Developer and Technology Lead Remote or D.C. Area (Full Time, Contract)

Yes She May is a Bethesda, MD based e-commerce site promoting women designers and female-founded brands from around the world.


We are looking for a web developer and tech lead to help accelerate the growth of our business. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Shopify, project management, and is familiar with CMS and inventory management software, logistics, user experience optimization, and general best practices with site performance and security.

He/she will be working directly with the Director of E-commerce and Marketing to help own and execute the E-commerce road map. He/she will be responsible for daily site maintenance, coding and customization needs to support business and marketing initiatives, tracking implementation, and any backend technical requirements. The candidate will also maintain relationships with outside technology and service vendors as it relates to the website and our CMS and Inventory management platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Own all website and technical development projects including custom webpages, app or software integrations, product listings, site load speeds, security, and more
  • Monitor and control all phases of project development process and analysis, testing, and implementation
  • Analyze complex problems/issues, identify process inefficiencies and implement solutions and best practices
  • Manage technology vendor relationships and lead the research, evaluation, and selection of new technology vendors
  • Optimize user experience, site content, navigation, engagement, and overall site performance
  • Support the Yes She May team by transforming business and technical requirements into implementation plans and overseeing the project management and execution of these plans
  • Assist in certain inventory and order management processes and other logistic needs

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in a related field or industry equivalent experience
  • 2+ years experience with Shopify, web design and development, eCommerce systems integrations, SEO and UI/UX best practices
  • Top-notch programming skills and in-depth knowledge of modern HTML/CSS and Liquid/Ruby, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Tag Manager, Excel
  • A solid understanding of how web applications work including security, session management, and best development practices
  • Hands-on experience with network diagnostics, network analytics tools
  • Strong project management and organizational skills to juggle multiple tasks within the constraints of timelines and budgets with business acumen
  • Strong working knowledge of Product, Inventory, Order management systems, and LTL shipments
  • Proficient in Shopify, Klaviyo, Google Analytics, SEO Manager, and more
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, especially when it comes to articulating requirement
  • Strong problem diagnosis and creative problem-solving skills
  • Entrepreneurial mentality and capable of wearing multiple hats in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working for high growth D2C startups a plus
